Opening Alert: Hamburguesa, Carlstadt, NJ

Hamburguesa (Spanish for burger), a new “street food” burger restaurant, has opened in Carlstadt.

It’s the same owners as Taqueria Los Gueros, a local Mexican food mini-chain with locations in East Rutherford, Englewood, Passaic, and more. They once sold burgers out of a food cart in Mexico City about 20 years ago and now with all the crazy burger concepts popping up all around, ownership figured “why not?”.

The menu (see below) is Mexico City-style burgers, hot dogs, potato chips, and shakes. They believe the “unique” flavor is what makes their dishes stand out — running the gamut from traditional, spicy, and sweet — the burger meat is custom blended in-house with a mix of flank steak and vegetables.

Late night hours are part of the plan, with 12:00am closings on weekdays and 2:00am on weekends — but that is subject to change.
