Opening Alert: Terra, Englewood, NJ

6 year old wine bar Grand Cru in Englewood has been be replaced by a new concept named Terra. The restaurant is from existing owners Steve and Lisa Sotland, who also own Food for Thought in Tenafly. They’ve also brought in veteran manager Eric Murillo, who will focus heavily on what they call “guest services’. Sotland has created two distinct areas in the restaurant, with the front a dedicated bar and lounge (including bar menu) and the back room as the designated dining room.

The kitchen is being overseen by chef Jorge “Freddy” Silva, who’s been in the position for five years now. He’s putting out a New American menu with a Latin flair, changing the menu four times a year. The bar program has been updated with a draft beer system (rotating every 2 weeks) and additional craft choices by the bottle (up to 23 total). A large selection of wine is available like before, with 16 available by the glass (View Menus).

They are open 7 days for dinner, with Sunday brunch coming eventually and valet parking on the weekends.
