Hiram’s in Fort Lee Named Among Best Hot Dogs

Grub Street writer Robert Simonson shared his appreciation for the Garden State food scene last week with a road trip piece titled ‘Why I’m Obsessed With New Jersey Hot Dogs’ (Read Article).

After sharing his love for the hot dogs growing up, he went into his discovery of New Jersey because of his wife grew up in the state.

Among his travels he’s now visited among others Jimmy Buff’s in West Orange, Dickie Dee’s in Newark, Tommy’s Italian Sausage & Hot Dogs in Elizabeth and Rutt’s Hut in Clifton.

But what “may be” his “favorite is Hiram’s in Fort Lee, with their beef and pork Thumann’s dogs — he suggests the homemade sauerkraut as a “must-have condiment”.
