Sushi Kai Aiming for End of Month Opening in Fort Lee

Sushi Kai, an omakase sushi restaurant, is coming very soon to Fort Lee.

As we reported back in June, the restaurant is aiming for the higher end of sushi establishments, offering “high quality” sourced ingredients — including fish from the Toyosu Market market in Japan as well as all sauces are homemade by their team — whom have trained in high end NYC sushi establishments like Cagen.

All fish will come in whole and be broken down in-house, plus they’ll be very seasonal with the fish choices as certain seafood will be available different times of year.

Of course there’s been some overall changes since they built and designed the restaurant for omakase only, but had to readjust due the pandemic. This includes the addition of takeout and delivery, but they will be using the same ingredients they planned on from the beginning.

Ownership operates a fast casual restaurant Yuzu Kitchen in Manalapan and hopes to open before the end of the month.
