It was National Taco Day last week, so food expert Peter Genovese over at NJ.com shared his list of The 35 best tacos you can eat in NJ (Read Full List).

He specifically picks the best “individual tacos” at each location, likely so you don’t get stuck ordering incorrectly. This year the list – he shares one annually of the various places that range from fancy to not so fancy – has nine new shops to try.

There was only one pick in Bergen County, the local mini chain Taqueria Los Gueros — they have locations in East Rutherford, Englewood and Saddle Brook — but also in Passaic and Paterson. Genovese’s choice is the al pastor tacos which he feels has a “slight edge over the steak or chicken” options.
