Muse Coffee Company, a new cafe and coffee shop, has opened in Lyndhurst.

This is the first venture for owners Abraham Awad and Marcos Duarte into the coffee business. They decided on coffee because it has been a long time dream — they started as fans of coffee — over time it developed into a hobby, finding new cafes and searching for the best cup around.

What would they do differently? What elements we would take from other cafes they loved if they opened their own place? Muse is the answer to those questions. With a connection to Modcup Coffee Co (Website) in Jersey City — the two owners mentored the team through the process — they are open and even brewing Modcup’s coffee in the cafe.

The menu includes coffee, espresso drinks, and tea — with a variety of small pastries including items from WHOS Gluten Free. They offer a variety using single origin beans, including available using a pour over method, which is made fresh every time. Since coffee is a seasonal and perishable fruit, they only serve it within three weeks of being roasted to preserve freshness and taste. Cold brew and Kyoto style iced coffees are also available as are chai and matcha lattes.

The 700 square foot space includes 12 seats (with more coming). While there are plans for music and more, the shop is open seven days a week from 7am till 4pm Monday thru Friday and from 8am till 5pm Saturday thru Sunday.
