New Jersey Liquor Laws Continue Longstanding Hangover

This time it’s craft breweries who are messing things up says the New Jersey Division of Alcohol Beverage Control according to a report by NJ.com (Read Full Article).

These new rules are specifically targeted at the activities currently being done on brewery property (in tasting/tap rooms) like hosting live music, trivia or any other activity that might take business away from “real” liquor license holders and the millions spent on their government sanctioned monopolies.

Naturally the craft beer industry in New Jersey (now at 88 breweries) isn’t overly thrilled with the changes, which include limits on how many special events they can hold onsite and offsite along with private parties. They also cannot have restaurant menus available in their tasting rooms… what appears to be an excellent example of everyone’s tax dollars at work.
