NJ.com shared their list of N.J.’s 35 greatest old-school restaurants (Read Full Article) according to their food write Pete Genovese.

These places are ones that have be unchanged for extended periods of time (like 20 years) and have old furnishings, paint jobs, menus and more. Genovese noted these spots are not ranked for food, but he does recommend it at all of them (ice cream shops and bakeries were not considered).

While a number of local spots made the list – Chan’s Dragon Inn (Ridgefield, #30), Steve’s Sizzling Steaks (Carlstadt #26), Lee’s Hawaiian Islander (Lyndhurst, #15), Rutt’s Hut (Clifton, #13) – Lido in Hackensack topped the whole thing.

Genovese recommends the sliced steak and pizza along with the service and dimly-lit room.
