Whole Foods Opens Latest Location in Weehawken

Whole Foods Market has opened it’s latest New Jersey location in Weehawken at The Shops at Lincoln Harbor. The store was originally supposed to be a While Foods 365 concept, though plans for that were eventually scrapped by management.

The 32,000 square-foot store offers a selection of locally sourced options, grab-and-go prepared foods and natural and organic grocery items. All food at Whole Foods Market must meet the company’s quality standards, which prohibit hydrogenated fats, high-fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners.

Among the “special features” of the store include a fresh produce department (including selections from over 50 local producers), full-service butcher (in-house made sausages, beef, chicken, lamb and turkey options from regional suppliers), seafood department, in-house bakery offering self-serve cookies and cakes plus a selection of goods from area bakeries (including Balthazar Bakery, Abe Muffins and By The Way Bakery), prepared foods section, and a full-service coffee bar from Café Grumpy.

The store employs approximately 190 full and part-time team members and is open seven days a week from 7:00am till 10:00pm.
