Continuing their annual string of lists for every food in the country, The Daily Meal revealed their 101 Best Pizzas in America for 2017. That’s specific pizzas, not just pizzerias, with the actual menu item being the winner at each particular pizza shop.

They relied on reviews from pizza experts, journalists, and readers – taking into account all styles (Neapolitan, Sicilian, New York, Connecticut, California, Detroit, St. Louis, bar pie, etc) – while looking for the following basic qualities: nuanced sauce, good-quality & well-distributed cheese, good-quality & sensibly combined toppings, flavorful & savory crust, and a “judicious, well-balanced, and pleasing ratio of sauce, cheese, toppings, and crust that maintains a structural integrity no matter the style”.

While New York pizzerias dominated the competition, New Jersey had 5 pizzas make the list. They are as following:
