Pete Genovese’s latest task at NJ.com is finding the best pizzeria in the state with their N.J.’s best pizzeria showdown. This is different than his bi-annual Pizza Power rankings, these are based on his tastings at the 50 semifinalists nominated (25 by him, 25 by readers). Today he revealed the 10 finalists.

Kinchley’s Tavern in Ramsey and their classic thin crust bar pies were the only Bergen County finalist. Pizzerias came from all over towns we’ve never been to, like Maple Shade and Haddonfield.

Genovese will now revisit all 10 over five days leading up to the announcement of the winner on August 9th.
