Katz’s Delicatessen to Open Pastrami Facility in Hackensack

Katz’s Delicatessan (Website), the venerable Jewish Deli on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, is opening a 30,000-square-foot production facility according to the Wall Street Journal (via Eater.com) in Hackensack.

The location will purportedly handle shipping for the brand, allowing those worldwide access to their famous pastrami and eventually corned beef. Salami shipping to armed forces stationed abroad were not mentioned.

While this is an interesting development, we’ve reached out to see if any retail action will occur at this facility – saving a drive, parking and long waits to “have what she’s having“.
