As per New Jersey rules, towns can apply for one consumption license for 3,000 residents, giving Leonia (population over 9000) the possibility of three. Liquor consumption licenses are hot tickets across the state – one in Montclair sold last year for $1.2 million (Read Article).

Bids are expected to begin being accepted next month, however the starting price has not been released. Though this would be the first for a restaurant, the town does allow the sale of booze through a few liquor stores.
