You already know that Village Whiskey, the restaurant and bar concept from chef Jose Garces is coming to Closter – because you read Boozy Burbs for your local food news. The wait just got that much more painful, as the Philly outpost of Village Whiskey was named to the 30 Best Burgers in America by Zagat.

The list was compiled from diner input and the “expertise of Zagat editors”. Voting was based on flavor, ingredient quality and the burger’s “overall value”. The classic burger, Kentucky hot brown, Chicago dog, Whiskey King (burger topped with foie gras and blue cheese), and duck fat fries all got props from the rating book/website — the “must have” is the eight ounce Village burger, served on a sesame roll with tomato, Boston bibb and housemade Thousand Island.

Just another reason why it’s one of our most anticipated openings for 2016 — though it’s now most likely coming in 2017.
