So many places, so little time. What’s in store for next year? Lots of restaurants have already been announced ― here are a few we are looking forward to checking out in 2016.

Village Whiskey in Closter
Chef Jose Garces is bringing two of his restaurants ― the other is Distrito ― to the upcoming Closter Plaza revamp. This concept features food that chef’s want to eat after a long night of service ― burgers and whiskey.

Aquarius in Fort Lee
First they tackled your basic Chinese takeout (Fort Lee), then Szechuan cooking (River Edge) ― now the same team is opening this Chinese restaurant in Silver Pond’s old locale ― will now supposedly serve dim sum, something severely lacking in these parts.

Huddle House in Teterboro
This 24 hour diner-like chain offers “Southern inspired comfort food” and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. Expect it as part of the “restaurant row” coming to Teterboro Landing.

American Cut Bar & Grill in Englewood Cliffs
Steakhouse chain with high marks from Chef Marc Forgione and LDV Hospitality will replace Assembly Steakhouse on 9W. Website

Kimchi Smoke BBQ Shack in Bergenfield
Popular BBQ vendor Robert Cho is bringing his Southern ‘cue off the festival and popup circuit and into a brick and mortar establishment.

White Maple Cafe in Ridgewood
Not much is known about this “New American” restaurant, serving food that is “simply prepared” with “thoughtfully sourced local ingredients”. Originally slated for December, however a spring opening is highly likely.

Black Rebel Burger in Hackensack
Local burger chain’s second location ― the first is in Wood-Ridge ― serving up griddled 6oz patties of Pat LaFreida custom blend and from-scratch buns. They are well known for their creative weekly burger specials like their Cheesy Tater Tot Burger (tater tots, cheddar cheese, fried eggs & steak sauce) or Prosciutto & Asparagus Burger (shaved prosciutto, deep-fried asparagus with Garlic & Herb Boursin cheese).
