‘Just Picked’ Returns to Kings for 2015 Season

Kings Food Markets Just Picked

Kings Food Markets has announced the return of their 24 Hour Just Picked Promise program for the 2015 season. The program is designed to bring Kings’ customers locally grown, farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs within 24 hours of being picked.

Kings works with a network of more than 25 regional farmers – in towns such as Vineland, Mullica Township, Swedesboro, Landisville, Buena, Hammonton, Newfield, Medford, New Lisbon and Millmay, NJ. Using an expedited distribution process, they are delivered to Kings’ stores and prepared for sale the next day. The program was developed in partnership with Massachusetts-based Red Tomato, a non-profit organization committed to better connecting farmers and consumers.

To find these products, customers can look for the 24 Hour Just Picked Promise seal in Kings’ stores. The items available at each store will vary daily – with summer staples as arugula, basil, cilantro, lettuce, squash, mint, blueberries, cucumbers, kale and tomatoes expected during the season. For the latest updates on which Just Picked products are available or for weekly recipes incorporating the fresh ingredients, visit Kings’ website or follow Kings via social media on Twitter (when shopping for the fresh produce, Kings has suggested the hashtag #KingsJustPicked) and Facebook.

Local Bergen County locations for Kings are in Cresskill, Hillsdale, Midland Park and Ridgewood. The program will run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
