Liquor license owners are fighting to have BYOB abolished in Palisades Park, even as the town weighs options to extend the hours they can be consumed at the BYOBs according to a report by northjersey.com. Among the problems facing the community due to these businesses has been fights, underage drinking and the sale – obviously illegally – of alcohol.

It’s no surprise that the liquor laws in NJ are still a point of contention. Earlier this year, Assemblyman John Burzichelli introduced legislation to create two new types of liquor licenses for restaurants, with limited sales and a maximum square footage of 6000 to deter chain businesses.
