While other ice cream joints have been reopening after being closed all winter, Ice Cream by Mike in Hackensack has been pluggin along – adding items like homemade soups, chili and hot dogs to their menu. Owner Michael Elias has revealed his first eating challenge – The Kitchen Sink Challenge – one person must eat 8 scoops of ice cream with 10 toppings in 30 minutes. If accomplished, its on the house (aka free) otherwise it’ll set you back $15.

The full ingredients of the Kitchen Sink Sundae – one scoop each of the following: Fresh Strawberry, Tahitian Vanilla, Valrhona Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Nutella, Fresh Banana, Coconut, and Coffee. Plus these ten toppings: Oreo, Heath Bar, Peanuts, Wet Walnuts, Ubet Chocolate Syrup, Caramel Syrup, Butterscotch, Chocolate Sprinkles, Rainbow Sprinkles, Homemade Whipped Cream, and cherries. If you want in, you must call ahead – Mike must be present during attempts.
