Vegan Meatballs Are Now On the Menu at IKEA in Paramus

The vegetarian community has been eagerly waiting for IKEA to start serving their version of vegan meatballs – the folks over at PETA spent close to a year convincing the powers that be at IKEA to also offer not just vegetarian one. The day has come and the veggie balls are now available systemwide — at least in the US.

The new veggie ball — or GRÖNSAKSBULLAR — is made with chunks of fresh vegetables (chickpeas, carrots, green peas, red pepper, corn, kale, pea protein, onion, rapeseed oil, salt and seasoning to be exact says USA Today) and part of a new dedication at IKEA to offer foods that aren’t just affordable, but also sustainable and made in a “responsible manner that considers people, planet, and animal welfare”. The veggie balls are now available for $4.49 (order of 10) at the in-store restaurant located on the 2nd floor at the Paramus store.
