The Brewers Association — a not-for-profit trade group representing small and independent craft brewers — released its annual list of the top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the US. The list, which is based on beer sales volume, features 42 craft breweries in the top overall 50.

“The companies on this list include the vanguard of the craft industry,” said Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association. “They are exposing new beer lovers to craft, opening new markets and creating opportunities for the entire category. As they continue to grow, so will the availability of innovative and high-quality beers produced for all to enjoy.”

New Jersey is expanding their craft beer game — with 45+ breweries operating or in the planning phase — it’s already been making it’s mark in the beer community. So even though nearby states like NY and PA are represented here, it may only be a matter of time before everyone is drinking local — from Jersey.
