Opening Alert: Orama, Edgewater, NJ


Orama, the globally-inspired restaurant from Chef John Piliouras (Nisi in Englewood) is open and serving dinner. The two-story building is quite a sight — with bars on both floors, chef’s table, private VIP dining room and pretty amazing riverfront views — and boasts an outdoor patio (which will host a rotisserie) that should really impress when the weather warms up.

The menu from Chef Piliouras has been broken into a first floor and second floor affair – small plates on the first floor (View Menu) with full menu for the second floor (View Menu) — much of which is “global” with “Mediterranean, American, and Asian dishes”. The team at Orama is also taking private event bookings for both the VIP room and Chef’s tasting table.

The wine list was curated by Wine Director Chris Kuhn features Mediterranean and American bottles, along with Champagne and sake. His goal was to “… balance my selections with guest favorites, along with what I think they would enjoy discovering, at all price points.”

Orama has the unique distinction of being named one of Boozy Burbs’s top anticipated restaurants for both 2014 and 2015 — but fortunately will now not make the list for 2016. The restaurant is currently open for dinner only with reservations available via OpenTable or phone at (201) 945-2020.
