Domino’s in Dumont Gets “Pizza Theater” Makeover

Dominos

Back in 2009 Domino’s launched their “Pizza Turnaround” campaign, admitting their product needed improvement, even reading complaints of customers in their commercials. A new pie was born: they revamped the sauce, cheese and crust. Then came updated chicken and even a new reformulated (handcrafted, never frozen dough) pan pizza was introduced in 2012. All of these were heavily promoted with national ad campaigns.

What also came out of this overhaul was a new way of designing their stores. Announced in 2012, the “pizza theater” concept promised full views of pizzas being made, as well as more space in the store for those to wait — even eat their food.

Fast forward almost 3 years and Bergen County’s (and Rockland’s) first pizza theater is here. The Dumont location was renovated in late 2014 and is now open with the refreshed concept. There’s the requisite open kitchen space to watch the “pizza artists”. Tables and counter count up to about 16 seats, plus a flat screen TV to watch while you wait or eat.
