Sangria Restaurant and Bar, a restaurant specializing in Spanish cuisine with a modern twist, has opened in Mahwah.

Owner Alfredo Alonso is hoping to highlight Spaniard cuisine and spirits at Sagnria. As a second generation restaurateur, he’s worked with Executive Chef Hank Barrett to craft a menu of various dishes – using authentic Spaniard spices and ingredients – for both lunch and dinner. There’s also a tapas menu, which is available all day.

The bar offers traditional and signature Sangrias, utilizing wines from around the world including different regions of Spain. The 90-person restaurant is styled after a rustic Spaniard bistro and is open 6 days (Mondays thru Saturdays) for lunch and everyday for dinner.
