Cal-Mex chain California Tortilla, has opened its first Bergen County location in Montvale ― another is planned for River Edge. The store is is being run by Wyckoff resident Lauren Sanford and her parents, hoping to appeal to local taste buds with the chain’s menu (View Menu) of made-to-order burritos, quesadillas and salads.

California Tortilla features an open kitchen with produce and meats sourced locally in NJ. They make everything homemade and fresh according to Sanford ― there are no freezers ― including all sauces and guacamole. They also have a special area in store called the “Wall of Flame”, which houses 75 bottles of hot sauce brands from around the country.
