Blue Star Burgers in Tenafly to Close at End of August

Official word has come from the owner of Blue Star Burgers that August 2014 will be their last month in business. The burger shop, which opened along Washington Avenue last June, features composed and custom burgers made with 80/20 chuck and mix of house seasonings. Burger patties are served plain or can be meatloafed (mixed-in) with a variety of “toppings”.

Blue Star has offered a “burger of the week” special each week since opening, including some “inspired” options like the Shephersds Pie (beef patty meatloafed with peas and carrots, topped with cheddar, tater tots, smoked Guinness aioli on a brioche bun), Chorizo Mexicano (patty topped with sautéed onion, chorizo, queso fresco, fried egg, refried beans on a bricohe bun), and the Danish Cowboy (1/4 pound beef patty topped with crispy smoked bacon, caramelized onions, Danish brie, fried egg on choice of bun).

Owner Jason Greenfast hopes to move the shop to a new location, though he couldn’t provide any specifics at the moment. To get your fix while you still can, you can visit them before their closing on August 31st.
