Paloma Negra Bringing Mexican to Edgewater

Update: Paloma Negra Edgewater is now open with a copy of the Paloma Negra Menu

A new Mexican restaurant and tequila bar named Paloma Negra, is replacing Tomaso’s in Edgewater. The owner’s family are responsible for the Charritos restaurants in Weehawken and Hoboken, though Paloma will provide a different take on Mexican cuisine.

We’re being told that the space will stay fairly casual, but the cuisine will include both authentic and upscale versions of Mexican fare. The restaurant will keep the 2 floor configuration from before, with the upstairs acting as a “lounge experience” featuring a tequila bar and tequila “lockers” – customers will be able to purchase bottles and keep them store in house to use at a later date.

They also hope to have regular tastings and events every month centered around the agave spirit. No date has been given for an opening, but we expect to hear more in the near future.
