Nyack Pourhouse Relaunching Menu with Brian Duffy

When siblings Brian Spicer, Sean Spicer and Heidi Nolan opened Nyack Pourhouse back in 2010, it quickly became a popular nightlife spot along Main Street. Fast forward to 2014, the family is looking to expand the bar’s reputation with some upgrades. They’re almost ready to unveil “Pourhouse 2.0”, with a revamped food menu and drink selection, that’s highlighted by the hiring of celebrity chef Brian Duffy (on a consulting basis) to revamp the food and the inclusion of an extensive beer program upgrade.

Fans of Spike TV’s Bar Rescue should be familiar with Chef Duffy, who as one of host’s Jon Taffer’s “experts”, Chef Duffy is brought in to help the establishments upgrade the fare being served from the kitchen. Nyack Pourhouse has spent time with him working on the direction of the new menu and has begun working with their team to implement what is being touted as American pub fare with a BBQ twist.

The menu will feature a number of BBQ items, stuffed burgers and a mac and cheese section. All the produce will be sourced from local vendors working the Nyack Farmers’ Market and meats from a (currently) undisclosed local butcher. While a copy wasn’t yet available, we hope to have a copy of the menu shortly before it’s official unveiling.

As mentioned, the other big change is Pourhouse’s new beer program dubbed “50 Tastes from 50 States”. This includes a bottled beer selection with a minimum of one beer from a brewery in each state. Some will have as many as 10 (NY). These bottles will feature the flagship beer from each brewery. The seasonal beers will be rotated on the Pourhouse taps, with 20 cycling on a regular basis, which should bring their beer total to around 100.

The wine and cocktail programs weren’t left out either – the wine selection is focused on New York and California vineyeards – while the cocktails will benefit from fresh, daily squeezed juices to form 8-10 signature drinks.

These new menus won’t be available just yet, the changes will roll out in about two weeks with a public launch on Friday, March 28th, 2014. And just in case your curious, their nightlife scene will continue in the later hours with the DJs and other acts their loyalists have come to know and love. View Menu
