Update: POC Hackensack Sushi Buffet is Open

We told you back in August there would be a sushi buffet replacing Greengrill Rodizio in Hackensack, now the signage has gone up for Port of Call (POC) American Fusion & Sushi, an “upscale” buffet (an opening is “planned around Thanksgiving”). The restaurant is owned by Port of Call Restaurant Group, which operates restaurants in Florida. This will be the third POC American Fusion Buffet & Sushi, as there are already locations in Weston and Coral Gables.

The culinary team behind these FL restaurants have worked at kitchens in New York and Miami (Nobu, Oak Room, Balthazar, Sushi Samba). The food is heavily influenced by Asian cuisine (with a taste of others from around the world) at what they’ve dubbed as the first ever “non-traditional buffet-style dining restaurant”.

The menu at the existing POC American Fusion Buffet & Sushi locations consist of four sections. The first section is sushi, consisting mainly of rolls. The next is a salad bar (cold items) with traditional and exotic options. The appetizer and entree (hot items) section includes many different foods plus carving stations and raw bar. The dessert section features homemade cakes, pies and more. The buffet is more extensive on weekends and holidays.

Pricing is not yet available, but the FL locations are structured with one price for all you can eat (lunch is cheaper than dinner) and those opting for takeout get charged by the pound (children’s pricing is also discounted).
