A Quick Visit to Rebecca’s in Edgewater
Rebecca’s in Edgewater has been a Cuban and Caribbean restaurant in Edgewater for almost 20 years. Chef and co-owner Glenn Chernalis grew up immersed in the restaurant business. His father owned Wyckoff’s Cedar Hill Inn and Franklin Lakes’ Market Basket. Glenn helped create Rebecca’s menu with the help of Rosa, the Cuban born mother of his wife (and co-owner and restaurant namesake) Rebecca. Currently the kitchen is run by Honduras born and Cuban trained Chef Noe (who has been there for a decade).
A recent visit saw a minor update to the menu with the streamlining of courses and the renaming of a some dishes for diner clarity. All the food is made from fresh ingredients that are bought locally and Rebecca’s is as always a BYO establishment. The backyard garden is still there and remains a hidden outdoor treat for dining during the summer months.
