The Twisted Elm

The Twisted Elm in Elmwood Park opened in the fall of 2011 serving fancier pub fare in the town known long ago as East Paterson. Using local and seasonal ingredients, the former barn is one of the few Bergen gastropub’s (the other being Biddy O’Malley’s in Northvale) to open in the wake of the official renaissance seen in the city over the last half decade. The Record gave Twisted Elm 2 and half stars in their first review back in April of 2012.

Fish and Chips

The menu reads like an episode of Diner’s, Drive-ins and Dives (duck fat fries, lobster grilled cheese) or Man vs. Food. There might be some salads on the menu, but those dieting should check their scales at the door.
