Previewed: Papa Razzi, Paramus, NJ

Bread sticks with butter

Thanks to a recommendation from one of our readers (Thanks Melissa!), we descended upon Garden State Plaza in Papa Razzi at the mall for some Italian Dining. We can’t say we knew a whole lot about the place. Basically, it’s at the mall (usually a deterrent because of the crowds) and it shares the same restaurant group as it’s next door neighbor Joe’s American Bar & Grill.

The dining room is fairly large and shares bathrooms (and who knows, maybe the kitchen) with it’s sister restaurant Joe’s. The menu is stock full of pastas, pizzas and traditional Italian meat & seafood entrees. A nice wine list, beers on tap and even fresh lemonade (always a plus) round out the beverage menu.

Mozzarella Fritta (fresh whole milk mozzarella lightly breaded and sautéed, finished with pomodoro sauce)

Focaccia

Calamari Fritti (tender crispy calamari with hot peppers, lemon and arrabbiata sauce)

Salad

Papa Pomodoro (rustic tomato soup with chicken broth, torn focaccia, basil and parmigiano)

Pollo Alla Parmigiana (boneless chicken breast lightly breaded, pan-sautéed and topped with pomodoro and mozzarella)

Fresh Pomegranate Lemonade
