Boozy Urbs: L’asso EV (East Village), New York, NY

Bread and Oil before the meal

In our never-ending quest to bring you the best local foods, you know we’re bound to hit the city from time to time (hence this “Boozy Urbs” posts). Since New Yorkers have a big thing about the pizza they call their own, it was only a matter of time we found ourselves in a spot that celebrates this fine food and took a few snapshots to go with it

This is the second location for L’asso (nickamed SINCERE FOOD FOR THE FUTURE PRIMITIVE… by them, not us). We heard about L’asso for two reasons:

1. They have a D.O.C. pizza (which stands for Denominazione di origine controllata or Controlled designation of origin).
2. They have a deep dish pie (which apparently needs to be ordered ahead of time). We love deep dish and NYC style… so sue us!

Gorgo Bruschette (gorgonzola, pear & walnuts)

with arugula, pistachios… amazing
