Boozy Urbs: Shorty’s, New York, NY

Eating cheesesteaks in New York may seem weird, but like all the great food that NYC exports to the rest of the world (pizza, bagels, hot dogs, etc), it’s nice to see stuff imported from other places as well.
Shorty’s prides itself on their bread. Apparently it’s made in Philly and is shipped up the Turnpike on a daily basis. It’s all baked on premises (every hours) and it’s their belief that it’s what makes their food stand out.
The menu features basic “South Philly”-style sandwiches with a selection of beef (and chicken) cheesesteaks and a nice selection of craft beers. Then mix in a ton of TVs with whatever sports are on and it looks like a winner!

“Hot” Buffalo Wings
Rounding out the menu are a number of salads and sides featuring some very flavorful (and spicy) chicken wings. Then sdd a few different choices of fries on the menu (plain, cheese and Italian.. we forgot to ask what they are, but we have no doubt that we would’ve enjoyed them) and the requisite fried mozzarella, onion rings and of course… nachos.
Another huge bonus for those living in the Boozy Burbs is the location. Shorty’s shares the same block (the back block) as Port Authority, so if you’re in a bus riding mood they’re dropping you off practically next door! Plus it’s also a convenient ride by car as well. Door to door from Tenafly should be approx 25 minutes.
