Boozy Urbs: La Silhouette, New York, NY

From a certain perspective, La Silhouette could most definitely look out of place. They are serving traditional French cuisine at a not particularly low price. By Manhattan standards that doesn’t seem like a big deal. What makes them different is the location: Hell’s Kitchen. So we beg the question, can a restaurant like La Silhouette exist in Hell’s Kitchen?
The ownership team cut their teeth working at Le Bernadin (otherwise known as Mr. Ripert’s Fish Emporium) and brought in some top local talent into the kitchen. The menu reflects “straightforward French-American food, executed with just a few modern twists“. The space is very modern with subtle touches including fresh flowers which give off a warm ambiance.

The amuse-bouche to our meal consisted of this fried potato & cheese fritter

Rosemary Focaccia and a Sourdough roll also before the meal

Prawns Appetizer

Pate de Campange

Butter Poached Lobster & Bass

Sea Scallops

Poulet Roti
